Write Your Own Opera!!

Creative Writing Contest for Guilford County Fourth Graders

Greensboro Opera holds a short-story writing contest for current Guilford County Fourth Graders every spring. Selected by Greensboro Opera and David Holley, Director of UNC-Greensboro Opera Theatre, the story is transformed into a libretto by Mr. Holley, and then set to music by a resident composer from UNCG's School of Music. The result: a ten-minute opera which is performed at Opera at the Carolina the following February!
