Tickets will still be available this evening and all day tomorrow from our website, area Lowes grocery stores, and the Greensboro Coliseum.
Saturday evening the War Memorial Box Office will be selling tickets, including student tickets - bring your ID!!!!!
And don't forget the Operalogue at 7PM in the Odeon Theatre lead by Dr. David Nelson of UNC-G.
If you ordered your tickets through the Greensboro Opera office, a special Will Call table will be set up in the lobby for your convenience. Tickets will be available at 7PM.
Spotlight on our Tamino & Pamina
Scott Ramsay has been featured in three role debuts this season: Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Opera New Jersey), title role in Gounod's Faust (Eugene Opera); and Fritz in Offenbach's La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, opposite Stephanie Blythe (Opera Boston). The tenor's season also included Rodolfo in La Bohème (Duluth Festival Opera); Ferrando in Così fan tutte (Arizona Opera); Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Green Mountain Opera Festival); Messiah (Nashville Symphony); Mozart's Requiem (Music of the Baroque, under Jane Glover, also Pasadena Symphony); Verdi's Requiem (Louisville Orchestra and Rochester Philharmonic); and the title role in Judas Maccabeus (Berkshire Choral Festival). Recent highlights include Painter in Lulu (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore (Michigan Opera Theatre, also Opera Grand Rapids); Roméo in Roméo et Juliette (Syracuse Opera); Carmina Burana (Berkshire Choral Festival); Grier's Songs from Spoon River (Ravinia Festival); and Bach's Cantatas Nos. 41, 109 and 205 (Bach-Collegium Stuttgart).
Andrea Edith Moore has sung numerous leading roles ranging from Countess Almaviva and Massenet's Manon to Stravinsky's Anne Trulove with companies that include the Hamburger Kammeroper, Central City Opera, Aspen Music Festival, Opera Company of North Carolina, Long Leaf Opera Festival, Yale Opera, and Peabody Opera Theater. The soprano has sung in recital with the Richard Tucker Foundation, New York, and given concerts in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Denver, Aspen, Munich, Hamburg, Slovenia, throughout North Carolina, and on tour in South America, notably appearing with Orquesta Filarmonica de Buenos Aires at Teatro Colon and Orquesta Sinfonica Brasileira at Rio de Janeiro's Teatro Municipal. Currently on faculty at UNC-CH, she has taught at the International Opera and Lieder Academy in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia. Moore holds a Master of Music and an Artist Diploma from Yale University and a Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory of Music at The Johns Hopkins University.
