Challenge Grant from the Greensboro Opera Companions!
Each season, Greensboro Opera receives a donation from the Companions to support an element of the mainstage fall opera production. Their gift has been enough to cover costs such as the rehearsal accompanist, a supporting cast member, or the wigs and make-up coordinator, just to name a few.
In honor of our 30th anniversary, the Companions have generously doubled their gift of $1,500 to $3,000 - providing that $3,000 worth of donations are made to Greensboro Opera between now and August 1 for a combined gift of $6,000.
That means that dollar for dollar, the Companions will not only increase their support this season, but that your donation will be doubled. Your $25 will turn into $50 - how amazing is that?
Who are the Opera Companions?
This year, the Opera Companions' contribution will underwrite the fee for the charming Children's Chorus in La Bohème. In addition, all funds raised above and beyond that fee will be gifted as unrestricted funds to the company - dollars that can be difficult to come by.
How to Give Send a check to Greensboro Opera in any dollar amount and note "Companions Challenge" on the memo line. You can also make your donation online, just note that it is for the "Companions Challenge."
And remember, all donations to Greensboro Opera between May 1 and July 31 entitle you to Donor Priority Seating; general public ticket sales begin on August 8. For a complete list of Donor Benefits, click here.
Perhaps you have already given your 2011 season donation. Won't you consider a small additional contribution? The Companions are asking everyone for their support!
Why not scrounge up that spare change in your couch cushions or ask your breakfast buddies to throw in $5 for a great cause. A little goes a long way at Greensboro Opera. And now thanks to the Opera Companions, it will go even further!
