Greensboro Opera Companions

are always looking for new friends!

In January of 1987, the Greensboro Opera Companions was founded with the goal of supporting Greensboro Opera, through financial underwriting and volunteer jobs, whatever, wherever, and whenever we were asked. Through the years, that support has included financially underwriting a summer Opera Camp for children, children's choruses for opera productions, supertitles for mainstage productions, and more. Behind the scenes, we supply volunteer staffing in the office, in the box office, help with mailings and distributing the Playbill, help with distributing publicity posters, and even altering costumes! In the area of hospitality, we provide staffing and food at matinée receptions for out-of-town opera attendees and we make refreshments available for cast and staff during rehearsal periods. In conjunction with our volunteer activities, we seek to further our knowledge and appreciation for opera and music through interesting and topical programs at several luncheon meetings during the program year. Our membership welcomes men and women who enjoy opera and who are committed to supporting Greensboro Opera as it provides this unique art form to our region.
